“If we don’t know where we are, how are we going to get further along? Truth telling about where we are and where we’ve been is not meant to leave anyone in shame. It may include repentance, and transformation, and new life, but that is the opposite of shame. Shame keeps us small and trapped; un-free and unable to live fully; unable to give and accept love freely.”
